Group size: Only 10 people will be allowed to travel in a small balloon and 16 people in a large balloon.

Tour start location: Dambulla / Kandalama.

Ride type: If you choose a shared ride, you will travel with other travelers. If you choose a private ride, only you and your group will travel in that balloon.

Transportation: No additional transportation is included (only the activity). If you want to arrange pick‐up/ drop‐off transport (to or from any location), please inform us when you make the booking.

FAQs

Anytime of the year between November to April. Flight availability totally depends on weather conditions. A sunny and bright sky is not enough, calm wind conditions are also needed for a flight to take place.

This tour is suited for anyone aged above 06 with good health conditions (except pregnant mothers).

Pilots pick the best height depending on weather conditions. Flight normally reaches between 500 and 2,500 feet high where allowed.

If the flight is cancelled due to weather, you will get a full refund. If you are in the same area the next few days, you have an option to reschedule your trip to another day (subject to availability).

All checks and audits related to hot air balloon flights in Sri Lanka, including balloon pilot licences, balloon operator licences, insurance policies are initiated by the officials of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka. All the balloons follow rigorous maintenance requirements. Every balloon is inspected annually by an authorized inspector and has certified annual maintenance inspections. All the pilots are trained in Europe and have a commercial licence and validated by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience of flying in different terrains in many countries.
