A traditional village tour gives you a chance to learn and connect with typical Sri Lankan rural life with all its authenticity. Here we have introduced 3 traditional village tours in three different locations. Each tour is unique, and you can join any tour based on your travel itinerary.
Village tour (Habarana)
This tour is located in Hiriwadunna, a quaint rural village in the center of Habarana. This tour includes a bullock cart ride, walking through the tiny village of Hiriwadunna, a catamaran ride in a beautiful lake Hiriwadunna, a home garden visit, a village cooking demonstration, and a tuk tuk ride.
Village tour (Sigiriya)
This tour is located in Sigiriya, a peaceful rural village on the way to Sigiriya Rock Fortress. This tour includes a bullock cart ride, a short stroll inside the paddy fields, a catamaran boat ride, visiting a village house, activities and cooking demonstration at the village house, tasting a snack with a herbal drink or local buffet lunch, and taking a tuk tuk ride.
Village tour (Dambulla‐Nilagama)
This tour is located in a less touristic village called Nilagama in Galewela (close to Dambulla). This tour gives you a chance to experience a bullock cart ride, local craftsman (blacksmith/ goldsmith/ handloom workshop) visits, a catamaran ride, a walk through the fields of fruit and vegetables, a visit to the village coffee shop (Kopi Kade) and an organic lunch buffet.
