The charming hill capital Kandy is the second‐largest city in Sri Lanka. Kandy is the last Sinhalese kingdom, and now it serves as the country's religious and cultural center. Kandy is named as a UNESCO World Heritage City because of its historical importance, and it is home to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Dalada Maligawa). This scenic city is nestled in a valley in the midst of low hills and looped by the longest river in the country, the Mahaweli River. Man‐made Kandy Lake at the city center is an iconic landmark of the city. Simply, this city has everything to offer, from history, religion and culture. Kandy city is a must‐visit place and not to be missed on a tour of Sri Lanka.

Tour Itinerary

In the morning, your guide will meet you at your preferred start location and start your journey. Your first stop will be Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, which is home to several orphaned wild elephants. Then you'll stop at Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden, which is the oldest botanical garden in Sri Lanka, and the National Herbarium. Then you'll take a quick tour of Kandy city and visit Kandy View Point. Your next stop will be the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (UNESCO World Heritage Site). In the evening you'll visit a Gem Factory and Museum and learn about the world's best gem‐making process. The final activity of the tour will be watching the Kandiyan Cultural Dance Show. At the end of the tour, we'll drop you at the location where we picked you up in the morning or any other location you request.
